A gal wearing a cool hat is the very picture of confidence. It emits strong character, style and shows that she knows her way around fashion. And when it comes to fashion – there has never been a straightforward boundary as to what is wrong and what is right, so make your pick and feel free to combine it as you please. I know a thing or two about hats, so I made a list of the coolest trends for hats that have been recently spotted in the chief fashion capitals. Now put your thinking cap on and make your pick based on your complexion and face shape. Time to rock your outfit.
The Wide Brim Hat
One of my absolute favourites for both summer and winter – the wide brim hat. The large design of this model helps me keep my cool and not lose my sanity under the scorching sun. On the other hand, the woolen version of the wide brim hat keeps me warm and cozy when roaming the streets in the chilly days. And have I mentioned that they boost my super dooper simple outfits tenfolds? On days when I feel like I got nothing to wear (although I can barely close my closet anymore), I put on my comfiest ‘all black’ outfit and top it with a wide brim hat to add a bit interest to the otherwise boring choice of pieces and colours. This kind of accessory is sort of a runaway success to my whole attire. And oh yeah, I so love how it makes me feel – put-together, modern and cool.
The Pretty Knit Beanie
Beanies came to be one of the most functional and winter-worthy accessories for sure. And how wouldn’t they – they are soft, knitted, street-style chic, head-hugging and easy to wear. The one thing that could bother some is the destruction of their spick-and-span hairstyle which is why beanies are the best ally for tousled or wash-and-go hairstyles, or maybe low ponytails. These are omnipresent in all colours possibly imaginable for wintertime – black, white, pink, orange and punk models with cool slogans sealed on the forehead. Leaving a statement with a single piece of accessory.
The Furry Snuggle
The safe haven for all detail lovers who seem to be eternally cold and in need of an extra dose of warmth. These unique pieces of accessories were among the biggest hits on the runway shows this season and came in various different designs that promised nothing less than a touch of fluffiness and chic elegance to outfits of all kinds. Ushanka style furry hats that have flaps hanging on both sides were all the rage on fashion shows. There were even styles where the flaps of black high-reaching trooper hats were not hanging down but instead, they were sticking out to both sides. Warm and cool – quite the combo.
