There is a very common saying that goes “nothing in this world is certain, except for death and taxes”. It’s my own personal opinion that back pain should also be added to that list. No matter how proper your posture or correct the way you sit, unless you can maintain them flawlessly throughout your daily activities for weeks at a time, sooner or later you will inevitably develop some back pain.
The problem is that back pain can not only be caused by bad habits such as slouching, but it can also come as a result of your job. If you find you are developing pain from your lax posture, there are ways in which you can start to improve it and easily stop any further pains. However, when the back pain comes as a result of your profession, which generally takes up at least 8 hours of your day and 5 days of your week, fixing the problem becomes a bit more difficult. But, not impossible.
Probably the best way to alleviate such pain is to get some sort of lumbar back support and luckily, since this is a problem that most people have, there is a wide variety of devices designed to provide that exact kind of support. There are for instance lumbar back support braces and belts of many different shapes and sizes. This is because not all people are the same, and not all of them feel the pain in the same area or in the same way. Their profession of choice and the nature of the work itself usually have a lot to do with where the pain is centralized as well.
One of the most common jobs that cause back pain are the ones that require you to perform a lot of the same movements in great repetition. Seeing as how this can cause muscle fatigue, the best thing to do would be to take frequent brakes to let your muscles rest for a bit.
Desk jobs also are famous for causing pain in the form of muscle stiffness. This comes as a result of sitting at a desk all day. This is an area where the lumbar belts can help you keep a proper sitting posture for longer, without causing you any discomfort.
Another important function any lumbar back support can serve is to help mechanics or warehouse workers that have to either be bent over something for hours or bend over and lift things over and over again. Usually this pain comes suddenly and sharply, but if a lumbar belt can’t remove the pain completely, then at the very least it can lessen it.
Even if you do have a physically demanding job, since everyone is not the same, no one can be sure when the pain may start to develop. What they can be sure however, is that when it does, there are a lot of lumbar support devices that have your back.
