Looking for the easiest and the most effective way to clean glass cooktops? Baking soda is one of the greatest, versatile and all-purpose home-made cleaning products you can use. And it is cheap too!
Although your stove may look clean, if you take a closer look, you will see battle scars from boil overs and from frying potatoes, chicken or fish fingers, etc. Go on, take a look. Am I right? If you are about to reach for the all-purpose spray cleaner, stop right there. Not only are those loaded with harsh chemicals (the smell makes your eyes water), but most do not even deliver the results promised on the label, such as ‘spray and wipe’.
So, what are your options, you may ask. You probably know that cleaning the mess just right after it happens is one of the best ways to avoid marks on glass cooktops. But since the cooktop is usually too hot to touch when the mess happens, you, like many, leave the cleaning for later and end up forgetting about it.
Even though there are different cleaning methods, like for example using a blade to scrape off the burned residue, which can end up in irreparable scratches, it is best to use something not as harsh yet super effective. The best alternative is a baking soda. Yes, your grandmother’s secret cookie ingredient will make your cooktop sparkling clean in less than 20 minutes.
